Distinction for being the first school opened up in 1841. By 1842 eight other schools were established on St. Croix. By 1923 the school was rename to Theodora Dunbavin School in honor of Miss Theodora Dunbavin distinguished and dedicated service throughout her lengthy career as a public school educator and administrator
